GOAL:

Spiritual awakening of families in the Archdiocese of Ernakulam-Angamaly in the Year of Family 2006
 

OBJECTIVES:

1.

Find out the impact of modern sociological trends and changes in the family

2.

Assess the pastoral needs of the family today

3.

Plan and execute more target oriented programmes through different Departments and Apostolates in the Archdiocese

4.

Help the Archdiocese and parishes to address the challenges that threaten the families today

5.

Evaluate the effects of activities of different Departments in the Archdiocese

Archdiocese in general:

The Archdiocese can formulate pastoral policies and chart out programmes during this Family Year and after, based on the findings of the survey

Clarity on modern trends regarding:

  • Different status in family life such as singles, separated, widow/ers etc.

  • Strength and weakness in the number of different professionals and how their expertise and services can be utilized in the pastoral field

Family Apostolate:

Gets details of couples of different age groups which will help to organize programmes

Gets complete data of those who are in special status such as widow/ers, singles and separated, so that they can be given better pastoral care and programmes could be organized accordingly

Orientation programmes could be organized for those who plan to migrate to different places both in India and abroad

Family Units:

Gets complete picture of the age groups of Family Unit members

Helps to address the problems of different sections and of those belonging to various status of life such as widow/ers, singles etc. who attend the Family Unit meetings

Helps to analyze the trends and interests in participating in the Unit meetings and Unit programmes

Helps to analyze the problems that affect the functioning of the Department like the importance of children and youth in the Family Units, proportion of male and female etc.
